The Day After Tomorrow
The Day After Tomorrow
As a kid, one of my favorite things in the world was being able to say, in anticipation of an exciting event, “I can say it is the day after tomorrow”, and it made it seem ever so close, and closer than ever! So why would that be? Why would the “day after tomorrow” be even closer than ever? It would be because in weeks and days, there wasn’t a moment closer beside “tomorrow” in a frame of reference.
Anticipation is an amazing thing. It is the act of looking forward with pleasurable expectation. And as a child, I realized that feeling as a most amazing thing. But as an adult, I realize the same expectation. The “day after tomorrow” can be ever so close. It is the first in a close relationship of time, that I can longingly anticipate the event that I so look forward to.
The “day after tomorrow” is a frame of reference that many events in my life have been marked by. The “day after tomorrow” is a phrase and an emotional connection to something amazing yet to come. It is a way that I have come to anticipate the good and the bad as a closeness that, though not yet achieved, is a closer than ever frame of reference that will only be closer than “tomorrow”.
So with anticipation, and eagerness, and happiness, and much expectancy, the “day after tomorrow” will come. It will bring with it a new adventure, a new future, and a surprise unlike any other. Anticipation for an exciting event that will come “the day after tomorrow” is an amazing feeling. Like when I was a small child, it is an amazing feeling, because I have never been so close!
